Iran’s saffron export statistics

In the Iranian calendar year ending in late March, 21 metric tons of Iranian saffron valued at $207,786,281 were exported to 55 countries.

Someone who is knowledgeable about the matter has revealed that Iran ships out 200 tons of top-notch saffron abroad each year.
Iran’s National زعفران Council’s vice chairman stated that customers, both domestic and foreign, highly appreciate the excellent quality of saffron produced in the country.
According to Gholamreza Miri, the worldwide average saffron consumption is estimated to be 320 tons.
Before, the head of the Iranian Saffron Exporters and Sellers Union stated that Iran’s saffron exports saw a 28 percent increase in the initial eight months of the previous Iranian calendar year (beginning on March 21, 2023).
During this time, he mentioned that Iran primarily sent its saffron to Spain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), China, and Afghanistan.
