Growth in the Export of Iranian Tomato Paste in 2023

Iran’s revenue from tomato paste exports saw a 19 percent rise in value and 19.4 percent increase in volume in the first 11 months of the previous Iranian year compared to the same period in the year before, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) as reported by Trend.
As per the report, Iran sold around 135,000 tons of tomato paste valued at $76.2 million during the initial 11 months of the previous Iranian year.
During the same period last year, exports totaled 113,000 tons with a value of $64 million.
Tomato paste from Iran was sent to 56 nations, with primary destinations being Austria, the UK, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, among others.
Each year in Iran, around 175,000 hectares of land are used to grow tomatoes, producing approximately 7 million tons of the fruit. Simultaneously, Iran annually manufactured approximately 600,000 tons of tomato paste on average. Approximately 170,000 tons can be exported.
During the first 11 months of the previous Iranian year, Iran shipped out more than 111 million tons of non-oil goods valued at $48.8 billion.
This represents a 12.2 percent rise in worth, with a 1 percent drop in quantity compared to the previous Iranian year.
