$1 Billion Rise in Iran’s Agricultural Exports in One Year

According to Agriculture Minister Mohammad-Ali Nikbakht, Iran’s agricultural production increased by $1 billion in the last year until late March compared to the previous year.
The minister announced on Wednesday that Iran’s agricultural industry experienced a decline for almost four years before showing a 0.5% growth at the end of last year.
He expressed optimism about the continued growth of Iranian agriculture this year.
Last month, Iran’s general inflation rate was 2.8%, but the inflation rate for food and necessary items was 1.8%, according to the minister. He also pointed out that the inflation rate in the agricultural sector is lower than the national average.
He stated that Iran has improved its reserves of agricultural inputs and essential goods compared to last year.
